Resolved Question: WHICH BIKE SHOULD I BUY?

I'm a high school student, and I absolutely LOVE bike riding. I'm looking to buy a nice, good-quality bike but I'm not too well-informed on bicycle qualities, brands, and specifications. (weight, material, size, durability, speed ability, age, etc). I usually ride on paved-trails (waterfronttrail.org), and occasionally gravel or dirt paths. And I really enjoy long bike rides (went for a 10 hour ride last Sunday, woohoo!). Which bike would be appropriate for me? Why? And what do you think of the prices?? ...
